This day is open to all people living with Parkinson’s, their carers, and members of the medical profession and is provided free of charge (including refreshments and a buffet Lunch).
The day has been funded jointly by Leicester East and Leicester West Activity Groups, Hinckley & District Branch and Melton Mowbray and Lutterworth Support Groups of Parkinson’s UK.
SPEAKER PROFILES
Dr. Jonny Acheson is an emergency medicine physician, author, artist, and advocate for people living with Parkinson's disease. Since his diagnosis in 2016, he has combined his medical expertise with his personal experience to empower others navigating neurological conditions.
When he's not writing or practicing medicine, Jonny creates custom art through The Acheson Atelier and speaks about the intersection of healthcare, disability, and professional identity.
Caroline joined Parkinson's UK in 2021 and brings a wealth of experience having overseen transformative and award winning programmes in the NHS. She joins Parkinson's UK from Versus Arthritis, where she oversaw a strategic review of the impact of their services. Caroline is passionate about making sure patients' needs are at the heart of healthcare services. She's also a trustee for 2 charities focused on social justice and care, and non-executive director of an organisation based on health and wellbeing.

The activity zone s almost entirely dependent on the weather. The sports that are listed are subject to agreement with with the supplier concerned and evailablity. We would hope to have at least on activity in each session.
The Marketplace is made up if session hosts stands so you will have the opportunity to talk to them one one together with stands from carefully selected suppliers who specialise in the supply of goods and services to people with Parkinson's.
*Coffee with the speakers is am opportunity for a small group of people to chat informally with the speakers - spaces for this activity are strictly limited.
#We will hopefully have two nurses sessions but they will both be the same content, this is to give everyone attending the chance to hear them
